Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup caro syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups whole spanish peanuts (raw)
  • 1 1/2 tsp butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Preparation

  1. Mix in pan over moderate heat sugar, syrup and water. Cook rapidly until hard ball stage 268. Add peanuts and butter. Cook until hard crack stage.
  2. Stir in vanilla and soda, spread on greased cookie sheet. Spread as thin as possible. Let cool completely, break up into small pieces.
  3. Store sealed in air tight container so candy does not soften.
