Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 oz chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Cook butter and sugar in pan over moderate heat to 310 (hard crack). Make sure all ingredients are combined. If it looks like it's just about to burn..it's done!
- Pour into buttered pan, spread evenly.
- After about 5 minutes (when the candy has hardened) sprinkle chocolate chips and let sit for a few minutes. With a spatula, spread the chips (they should have melted) over candy. You may need to work the chips a bit to get them melt all the way.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over chocolate while chocolate is still soft. Let candy sit until completely cool and chocolate has setup.
- Store in air tight container so candy does not soften.
