- 2 stalks celery

- marjoram
Method
- Add ham hocks to pressure cooker, cover with enough water to be submerged 1 inch.
- Bring to pressure, lower temp and cook for 10 minutes. Allow pressure to release.
- Open container, remove hocks and allow to cool and then remove meat from the bone.
- Add the peas, ham meat, carrots, potatoes, celery, salt, pepper, and marjoram (to taste on all seasonings) back into ham hock broth.
- Bring to pressure, lower temp and cook for 8 - 10 minutes. Allow pressure to release.
- Enjoy.
Good to Know
You can skip the ham hock broth making step, though I do not recommend as it is a real pain to get the meat off the bone when it is covered with cooked split peas. Also, you get a much meatier flavor this way.
If you do not have a pressure cooker, replace those steps by cooking at a low simmer on the stove top for an hour.
