Sourdough Pancakes

Ingredients

Step 1

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups warm water

Step 2

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Method

Step 1 (the night before)

  1. Mix in a non-metal bowl:
    • Yeast
    • Flour (sifted)
    • Warm Water
  2. Beat well with a plastic or wooden spoon, cover and set in a warm place for 8 hours or overnight.

Step 2 (next morning)

  1. Add all remaining sifted ingredients and beat really well again.
  2. Using a 1/4 cup measure, spoon out onto pre-heated greased griddle. 
  3. Cook until edges dry and bubbles do not fill in. Flip over, cook for 1-2 minutes more.

Good to Know

Eat as you would any pancake.

Try butter & powder sugar as an alternate topping.
