Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped rhubarb

Method

  1. cream together sugar & shortening
  2. add egg & vanilla, mix well.
  3. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk
  4. Fold in rhubarb
  5. Pour into 2 8" greased & floured square pans
  6. Top with 1/2 cup sugar & 1 tsp cinnamon
